Bielefelder Nachtansichten - Night of Culture

Long Night of Museums, Churches and Galleries

|April| Do cultural sites close too early for you? Then head to the Long Night of Museums, Galleries and Churches in Bielefeld. The Night of Culture’s programme doesn’t end until after midnight

Every year on the last Saturday in April, the city of Bielefeld in Teutoburg Forest uses the first warm spring nights for a long night of museums, churches and galleries. Many of the city’s cultural sites open their doors for the Bielefeld Night of Culture until after midnight.

Between 6.00 pm and 1.00 am culture vultures and night time city strollers are invited to enjoy a diverse programme with interesting exhibitions, fascinating installations and surprising performances at some 50 different locations. Guided tours, readings, poetry slams, circus performances and hands-on activities are also included from time to time.

The night-time views enchant visitors with special lighting effects: Bielefeld attractions, such as the Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall), the Alter Markt (Old Market), Ravensberger Park or the sculpture gallery at the Kunsthalle gallery, are bathed in the colourful lights of artistic projections, creating a special atmosphere.
