Dortmunder U

Turn beer into art

The master brewer of the Union-Brewery could probably not have imagined that a fermenting and storage cellar would one day turn into an exciting center for art and creativity in the Ruhr area. The large “U” on the rooftop of the house commemorates the location’s beery past already from afar and sometimes continues to be just as beery at parties in today’s Cloud and Bistro Moog. What’s more, the Dortmunder U especially draws the visitors in with its contemporary exhibitions. In 2018, the house is presenting the large Pink Floyd exhibition and, in a sense, takes the visitors backstage to one of the most successful bands in music history.
