When the Prinzipalmarkt shines in golden splendour, gabled houses and churches are discreetly illuminated, shops are festively decorated and the scent of fir trees and mulled wine wafts through the streets, the most beautiful time in Münster begins: Advent. Six Christmas markets transform the old town into a winter fairy tale, with around 300 stalls inviting visitors to stroll, shop and enjoy. In the inner courtyard of the town hall, the largest and oldest Christmas market attracts visitors with arts and crafts and a children's carousel. At the foot of the Lamberti Church, small pointed-roof houses and a large Christmas fir await visitors. At the Aegidii Market, a tall wooden Christmas pyramid stands amid the stalls, while all kinds of Westphalian specialities can be sampled around the historic Kiepenkerl. The Giebelhüüskesmarkt owes its particularly romantic ambience to its location in front of the unique backdrop of the Überwasserkirche church. The Christmas market on Harsewinkelplatz directly next to the "Kirschensäule" sculpture by Thomas Schütte is a market by Münster for Münster. The entire range - from arts and crafts to gastronomic delights - is local, regional, sustainable and creative.

Münster's most beautiful time - when Prinzipalmarkt glows golden, the arcades are decorated with Advent wreaths and the scent of fir greenery wafts through the streets, Advent begins. Six individual Christmas markets, around 250 stalls in total: the Christmas markets around the Historic Town Hall, Aegidiimarkt, Am Kiepenkerl and at Harsewinkelplatz take place from 27 November to 23 December.
