Landschaftspark Duisburg

rarely partied this hard

On the edge of the city, around a disused steelwork, there is a park with an impressive landscape, which combines nature and industrial culture. The Landschaftspark Duisburg is a particularly successful example of how the region has changed during the course of its structural transformation. Once a year, the “Traumzeit Festival” (“Dream time festival”) is held in the former steelworks halls. It is also popular beyond the region for its unusually high quality bookings right across the indie scene, and its unforgettable concrete atmosphere between two chimneys and steel structures. At the weekend, it’s worth paying a visit at dusk, when the light installations are illuminated and the landscape park becomes a huge display of colour.
