Party on the Rhine and adventures in treetops

Enjoy the end of the year at the Rhine or celebrate with your family in Phantasialand in Brühl - there are so many possibilities for spending New Year’s Eve in NRW.

Big parties to mark the end of the year

New Year?s Eve on the Rhine

The New Year?s Eve fireworks can be enjoyed on the boats operated by the Köln-Düsseldorfer Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt company. As well as the open view onto the events in Düsseldorf and Cologne, there?s a large buffet and live music.

New Year?s Eve galas in Phantasialand, Brühl

In Phantasialand, guests can choose between several New Year?s Eve galas at once. From the ?Kaiser-Silvester?, or Emperor?s New Year?s Eve, in a far-eastern atmosphere to the legendary Queen Night and immersion into the African joie de vivre. The climax of the evening is Germany?s longest firework display.

Dinner, dance and party at the Flora

Cologne?s most beautiful party house offers the perfect backdrop for a festive, glamorous New Year?s Eve in Cologne. The luxurious 5-course menu with exquisite beverages and live music is followed by a heady dance party. Later, the new year is rung in in the party hall or on the terrace of the roof salon.

Enjoyable highlights on New Year?s Eve

Set menu in the ?Tenne? restaurant, Land Gut Höhne in Mettmann

The hotel, which is surrounded by the historic walls of a manor house, offers an overnight package at the turn of the year, which can be booked with a buffet and live cooking stations in the restaurant or with a set menu in the ?Tenne? restaurant. When the bells in the hotel?s own bell tower ring in the new year, the colourful silhouette of the fireworks in Düsseldorf can be seen on a clear night.

Sensual tango night in Wuppertal

Guests visiting the New Year's Eve ball in the imposing historic town hall in Wuppertal will find themselves not only surrounded by beautiful architecture, but also right in the centre of the tango scene. In the Rossini hall of the historic, Wilhelminian-style building, sensuality is on offer, not only in the buffet, but also on the dance floor. The climax of the show is a tango performance just before midnight.

More special moments to start the new year

New Year?s Eve on the ?Halden? in the Ruhr area

The Halden, or hills made of rubble, in the Ruhr area haven?t planned any particular event for New Year?s Eve. Even so, it?s worth climbing up them at midnight, with their unique 360-degree panoramic view from above onto the fireworks in the Ruhr area. The view is of course free of charge.

New Year?s Eve in the snow, Neuss ski hall

Snow is guaranteed on New Year?s Eve in the Neuss ski hall. Visitors can take their final turns through the powdery snow until 11 pm. There?s also the option of booking various additional offers, such as a fondue evening or a big gala buffet on the ?Hochalm? mountain pasture. At midnight, guests welcome in the new year together on the piste.

New Year's Eve in the treetops

For families or single parents with children who want to take a break over New Year?s Eve and experience something special, Bonn is the place to be. The youth hostel there offers a four-day programme during which guests slip into the role of spies and agents. Other youth hostels in North Rhine-Westphalia also have something special to offer. In the hostel in Bad Honnef, for example, new horizons will open to mark the change of the year. At the Astro New Year?s Eve event, children aged six and above can find out more about the sky during the day and at night. At the Panarbora New Year?s Eve special event, families get together on the treetop path in the Bergisches Land region to welcome in the new year on the platform of the viewing tower.

Culture and tradition on New Year?s Eve

New Year's Eve concert in Xanten cathedral

Many concert halls and churches say goodbye to the old year with major concerts, such as in Xanten cathedral. Here, Johann Sebastian Bach and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy will be played from 7.30 pm onwards.

Dinner for One, Münster

In the Boulevard Münster comedy theatre, ?Dinner for One? is shown in the original version. There are three performances, all on New Year?s Eve day. During the evening, ?Landeier? is also on the programme - with a large New Year?s Eve buffet.

Holiday on Ice, Münster

The first great love, the first kiss or an unforgettable adventure: All these can be the loveliest moments in a person?s life - special memories that have inspired the show called ?Showtime? by Holiday on Ice. The show will visit Münster from 26.12.2019 to 30.12.2019. Two performances will be given in the Messe und Congress Zentrum Halle Münsterland trade fair and congress hall.
