Experience the Beauty of the Rhine

Niederrhein Tourismus GmbH

3 nights’ accommodation with breakfast, three-course menu, luggage transport between hotels, maps, free hotel parking

The Rhine weaves through the green landscape like a blue ribbon. And keeping close to the wide, gently-flowing river is the cycle path that will take you from Rees to Wesel via Kleve. Every so often you will feel the touch of a soft breeze as you take in the amazing views and listen to the larks singing overhead. If you eventually begin to tire, you can always take it easy on board the “Stadt Rees” ferry. The cruise downriver will provide healthy lungfuls of fresh air on deck. There will also be plenty of opportunities for relaxation when you reach your destination after each stage. Rees, the oldest town in the Lower Rhine, boasts one of the loveliest promenades found anywhere on the Rhine. You should also take a stroll through the old town and follow the “Pathway of the Planets” complete with sculptures illustrating the enormous scale of our solar system. Kleve will transport you on a romantic voyage into the past with the imposing Schwanenburg castle and magnificent baroque gardens which inspired the famous grounds of Versailles and Sanssouci. Your final stop is Wesel, the former Hanseatic city on the Rhine. The city’s star-shaped fortifications and citadel are monuments to its glorious Prussian past.
