Discover rushing streams, fragrant flower meadows, dense forests and panoramic views on a four-day tour of the Eifel National Park.
Opened in 2007, the Wilderness Trail is a long-distance hiking path which extends for 85 km through North Rhine-Westphalia’s only national park. Monschau-Höfen in the south of the Eifel National Park is your starting point. The individual stages finish in Simmerath-Einuhr (24.7 km), Schleiden-Gemünd (20.5 km) and Heimbach (22.4 km). The most northerly point and the end of the Wilderness Trail is Hürtgenwald-Zerkall (17.7 km). The specially designed pictogram which you will see on the Wilderness Trail waymarkers shows the face of a wildcat.
The Wilderness Trail takes in the full distance of the Eifel National Park in four daily stages.
