Stadtgarten/Studio 672

All the good stuff is here

With more than 400 events ranging from jazz and electronics to literature and discussion rounds a year, Cologne's Stadtgarten is one of the city's liveliest cultural venues. Next to the main hall there is the small cellar club Studio 672. Here was one of the birthplaces of the "Sound of Cologne", where parties and concerts with minimal techno took place here in the early 1990s, when the then young labels “a-musik” or “kompakt” did showcases. This status of Stadtgarten as an innovative music venue has also made it the center of the c/o Pop music festival. In total, more than 160 acts can be experienced on more than 30 stages throughout the city during the festival. An attached conference provides the space for much-needed professional exchange. Stadtgarten is also known for its variety of jazz-concerts, earning it awards for being one of Germany's best live venues. With public funding by the city and the Federal State, Stadtgarten is also on its way to become a "European Center for Jazz and Contemporary Music".
