Aachen Zoo

Aachen

The Aachen Zoo, nestled in the idyllic landscape around the Beverbach, is an international excursion destination in the border triangle of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. More than 500 animals from over 70 species live on around nine hectares in naturally designed enclosures. Children in particular can look, marvel and play here: Four large playgrounds invite them to run around and linger, while the zoo's educational program offers exciting insights into the animal world.

There are also insights into how nature and the zoo generate energy. An energy trail explains how renewable energy generation works at eleven stations, with display boards explaining photovoltaics, solar thermal energy and wind power with the help of examples from the animal and plant world.
