Dominican Church
Particularly artistic
I'm an art fan! Whether in a museum, a public space or ... in church. Yes, you heard me right. As if my old Dominican church isn't already beautiful to look at. The painter and sculptor, Gerhard Richter has once again upped the ante here. The work of art, "Two Gray Double Mirrors for a Pendulum" is a Foucault pendulum with a metal ball weighing 48 kilograms, which swings between four high, rectangular, mirrored glass panels on a 28.75-metre-long stainless-steel cable. And with this pendulum rotating 12 degrees in an hour and a full 360 degrees in 30 hours, the Earth's rotation becomes visible. Crazy, right? You have to see it for yourself because this is nothing you can explain.
