750,000 volumes and 720 current periodicals. So, you already know the hard facts about my special theological library, one of the largest in the German-speaking world. There is an enormous wealth of knowledge here. And the good thing is: with a shelf area of 28 kilometres, I have space for a total of one million books. Well, I had to mention this number after all. Hello, a million! Why is this library an important cultural institution? Here, you will find an extensive old stock: a large number of manuscripts, incunabula, early prints, valuable special collections and the internationally renowned collection of music manuscripts by the Italian music researcher, Fortunato Santini. You're amazed, aren't you? Before you go inside, take a look around the outside. What does this building remind you of? I also like the contrast of old and new in this place. My modern library building meets the venerable Überwasserkirche and the Luidgerahaus. It looks great!
