Johannes Höhn
Diocesan Museum
The oldest of its kind
Throughout the German-speaking countries, it’s the oldest of its kind, just so you know. But alright, maybe a few facts first: my diocesan museum was founded in 1853 – today, its collection with over 12,000 exhibits includes a large treasure trove of medieval and early modern cultural history. The term "church treasury" is quite appropriate, isn't it? Stroll through the museum, along enthroned Madonnas, smiling angels, opulent paintings and impressive treasure art and get to know the history behind the works. It’s worth diving into.
