LWL Museum in the Kaiserpfalz
Where everything began
Here. It all started right here. The Kaiserpfalz is the place where I was born. And what does Charlemagne have to do with it? Find out for yourself in the imperial palace museum. Here is an exciting insight into my history as well as Westphalia's from the 6th to the 12th century. Unique finds are included. Can you guess how magnificent things were at the king's court? That is definitely the aim of my permanent exhibition. There is also a major highlight in the basement. Here in the Kaiserpfalz, one of about 200 springs in the whole city rises. And the view that is offered to you in the spring cellar is simply unique. Old walls and clear water - like in a grotto.
