Hello, I`m Aachen.

Glad you are here.

My diary is thick and heavy. I've experienced, participated and seen so much and I’m quick to get into a chatty mood. Surely you can understand that, right? But don't worry! You certainly won't get bored on a walk with me. Even the Romans loved my hot springs! And Charlemagne quickly realized that he could rule an entire kingdom from within me. How grateful I am to him today that he had this magnificent cathedral built which, in my opinion, is rightfully considered a World Heritage Site. And that's not a boast! But please, don't reduce me to just my past. Because even today, I definitely still cut a good figure! Oh, and please let me tell you the following: Here, you’ll meet more than just engineering students.

How would I describe myself? young & wild.

You're only as old as you feel, right? I’m definitely more than just alive and kicking! Because behind my history-charged façade, there are quite a few corners that also make the here and now quite attractive. May I start things off by inviting you to an ice cream? Next item on the agenda: Whatever you feel like! Interested in enjoying the sun shining on a green meadow in the shade of the castle? How about going on a photo tour? After all, the pastel facades of old buildings in my district of Frankenberg are quite pretty to look at. And then there is this one, a very special building that has blossomed into a real shooting star. Stay tuned – isn’t that what people say these days? I really have some sights in store for you and my numerous cafés and restaurants are also happy to get to know you. So, feel free to take a little more time for me, you won't regret it!

REALLY KNOW ME You think you know me? Not even close. About whom or what do you already know everything? Come, let yourself be surprised!

For me, the Diepenbenden reservoir is the perfect place to relax and get away for a moment. The location of the lake is very idyllic - hidden in the middle of a forest and surrounded by beautiful hiking trails. When you've had enough exercise, I recommend the "Haus am See". Their terrace sits right by the waterside, and it is a great place to unwind.
