Beck Castle

Bottrop

Schloss Beck is a leisure center and a place of remembrance in one. The late baroque pleasure palace with its many historical attractions and play areas takes parents back to their past, while children still have fun on the wave slide or the ladybug rollercoaster. Explorers can learn more about the flora and fauna at lofty heights on the unique treetop path.

When the red and white Bimmelbahn whizzes over the pavement of the colorful castle grounds, childhood memories come to life and loud laughter can be heard from the packed carriages. The lively passengers whizz past the water bridge or the blue trampolines. They pass the nostalgic spooky cellar or the curved staircase that leads up to the imposing yellow manor house of the late baroque monument in Kirchhellen. In the restored property dating back to 1777, dioramas with mechanically animated stuffed animals await, which have been a source of amazement for several decades.

Ladybug rollercoaster and wave slide

The next stop on the entertaining tour is a stop at the nearby edge of the forest. From here, the ladybug rollercoaster and the wave slide are just a few meters away. Families with small children and nostalgics with a penchant for historical rides in particular will get their money's worth with the many attractions at Schloss Beck amusement park. The facility offers entertainment for both young and old visitors. The treetop path is unique in the local amusement park landscape.

At a height of up to 15 meters, explorers walk over a 200-meter-long steel bridge that winds its way between the treetops of the beech forest. The view falls on the full foliage, pretty birdhouses and down to the beautiful castle pond, on which pedal boats leisurely make their rounds. Nature lovers can learn about the local flora and fauna at eye level with sparrows and woodpeckers, before returning to the Ferris wheel or the boat swing.

Further excursion points

If you still haven't had enough of the inviting amusement park atmosphere, you can pay a visit to the neighboring Movie Park Germany. The spectacular rollercoasters and breathtaking stunt shows at the park are sure to set hearts racing. Alternatively, nature and culture lovers can pay a visit to the Tetraeder on the Beckstraße slag heap, which is around 30 minutes' drive from Schloss Beck. Bottrop's landmark - 42 meters above the 90-meter-high top of the slag heap - offers a unique view of the Ruhr area landscape.
