Türnich Castle

Kerpen

Schloss Türnich has been owned by the von und zu Hoensbroech family since 1850, who are happy to share their home with guests today: The grounds with a large forest park around it are open to the public.

The baroque Türnich Castle in Kerpen is an enchanting location that has also served as a film set. The interiors of the listed moated castle are being renovated, but it is also pretty to look at from the outside. The castle grounds with their gardens, a beautiful avenue and a pretty chapel are a sight to behold. And there is also a place to stop for refreshments: the Hofcafé serves organic cakes, coffee and lemonade.

The 15-hectare forest park has been restored according to historical plans and ecological findings. It is a diverse biotope with woodland and wild meadows and contains numerous wild herbs, mushroom species and bird species. There are stone placements with magical symbols that are supposed to indicate and reinforce places and networks of energy. The 300-metre-long avenue of lime trees flanking the path to the castle with 111 lime trees is particularly impressive.
