First Da Vinci, now Van Gogh: the Visiodrom in the Gaskessel Wuppertal is developing into a hotspot for virtual art presentations in North Rhine-Westphalia. The facility in the giant of industrial culture uses Europe's largest 360-degree screen to show how paintings can be translated into digitally animated images.

The show unravels the story behind the works of the Dutch master, who found beauty in simplicity; who gave each individual color a component of meaning.

His intense world of color is given special emphasis when well-known works such as "Starry Night" and "Sunflowers" flicker across the canvas in front of the guests' eyes. Visitors also learn more about his sister-in-law, the extraordinary Johanna van Gogh-Bonger, whose commitment sent Vincent van Gogh's works on an unprecedented journey. The accompanying exhibition on the first floor of the Visiodrom reveals more about the skepticism of his contemporaries, his global recognition and the development of his unmistakable style.
