A PLACE FOR ALL THE SENSES
At Museum Schloss Moyland, art, culture and nature come together in a lively combination. In addition to the picturesque castle and gardens, the heart of the museum is the collection of modern and contemporary art, international special exhibitions and a variety of events.
The world's largest collection of works by Joseph Beuys is housed here. Together with the Joseph Beuys Archive, which contains documents, archives, photographs and publications, as well as the largest art library on the Lower Rhine, Museum Schloss Moyland is the international Beuys competence center.
Special exhibitions on classical or current art themes and individual artistic positions as well as changing presentations of ever new facets of the art collection are the main components of the museum's program. Visitors of all ages take part in an innovative art education program. In addition, numerous cultural events as well as an annual herb garden festival, a hydrangea festival and the artisan Christmas market make Museum Schloss Moyland a lively cultural meeting place.
The historic moated castle and park ensemble has a sculpture park, one of the largest herb gardens in the region and a remarkable hydrangea collection with more than 2,500 plants of over 530 varieties. The viewing platform of the north tower offers a panoramic view of the Lower Rhine landscape.
