The start and finish of the 34-kilometer circuit is the former Ewald colliery in Herten. No shift has been worked here for a long time and the site is wildly overgrown. However, the old winding towers are still standing and form the perfect backdrop for the start of this easy tour through the past and present of the Ruhr region. After crossing the Emscher, the route continues along a little-known railroad line to the Consol colliery in Gelsenkirchen, where numerous works of art have been installed in the park, as well as to the solar bunker and the former Almaring race track. A mysterious place that is almost forgotten and therefore all the more attractive. All cyclists must make a stop at the Erzbahnbude cult cyclists' meeting point before setting off on the return journey. This leads past the viewing platform at the Pluto spoil tip and a garage yard with great mining motifs on the garage doors. The highlight of the final stage is the ride over the Dragon Bridge. It leads to the Hoheward spoil tip, where cyclists are greeted by a dragon.
