The German Football Museum is preparing for a major highlight in 2026: Under the title "SUPERHEROES - The Story of Musiala and Wirtz", a spectacular blockbuster exhibition will open at the end of March 2026, dedicating around 1,000 square meters of multimedia exhibition space to the two exceptional German players Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz - to coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The immersive show promises a modern, audiovisually dense staging of the midfield stars and is particularly aimed at a young audience as well as soccer fans who want to experience current soccer icons alongside historical exhibits. The presentation of the two national team players is just as extraordinary as their game, emphasizes museum director Manuel Neukirchner, and marks a new, contemporary direction for the museum.

The German Football Museum, opened in 2015 as the national museum for German soccer, is one of the most visited cultural and sports institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia with over 300,000 visitors in 2025; it features interactive exhibitions on the history, present and culture of soccer - from World Cup moments to social issues. In addition to the new Musiala-Wirtz special exhibition, the museum regularly hosts other major projects and international collaborations, including exhibitions on the role of soccer in a historical context and on soccer art. In addition to multimedia presentations, original jerseys, historical trophies and interactive experience areas are an integral part of the museum's offerings.
