The special exhibition "Günter Netzer - the 1970s" at the German Football Museum in Dortmund takes visitors back to the golden age of soccer in the 1970s. The multimedia exhibition is dedicated to the style-defining soccer personality Günter Netzer, who became the first pop icon of German soccer with his artistic playing style and extravagant lifestyle. With his right foot, the idiosyncratic rebel stood for ingenuity and for passes from deep in the area. He celebrated success with his teams as German champion, DFB Cup winner, Spanish champion, Spanish Cup winner, European champion and even world champion.

On over 1,000 square meters, sports fans can now experience Netzer's career in an immersive media installation with multiple projections, film sequences and original exhibits. Sounds and noises from the 1970s complete the atmospheric experience. As an additional highlight, the German Football Museum presents the exclusive photo exhibition "Günter Netzer by Masahide Tomikoshi", which presents rare and partly unpublished photographs from Netzer's time at Borussia Mönchengladbach and Real Madrid.

The exhibition is a tribute to one of German soccer's greatest individualists and celebrates an era revered for its creative and revolutionary style of play.
