There really are flamingos in Münsterland! The northernmost colony spends the breeding season here between March and July. The Flamingo Route passes the most beautiful natural areas of the German-Dutch border region and stands out for its unique moors, heaths, charming villages and lively towns. Last but not least, the route leads along the protected areas that are home to flamingos, moor frogs and rare plants.
