Four Seasons Park Oelde

Oelde

The four-season park in Oelde is a crowd-puller that deliberately focuses on charisma and adventure: Back in 2001, the green recreational area on the south-eastern edge of Münsterland was the venue for the most successful state garden show in Germany. With the declared aim of fulfilling children's dreams and offering the magic of flowers, the event attracted 2.3 million guests who appreciated the wide range of experiences on offer and the splendor of the plants. Since then, countless other day-trippers have discovered the colorful area with playgrounds, park arrangements and panoramic paths for themselves. Travelers particularly like the density of attractions that the exploration landscape has to offer, as well as the variety of fragrant plants that sprout from the ground in landscaped flower fields.

Tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, anemones, magnolias and horned violets bloom around the Mühlensee lake and the Axtbach stream in spring and summer. Their splendor puts a smile on the faces of young and old alike. And the joy is maintained during a walk along the paths when parents set off with their children to the varied adventure playgrounds. In forest houses, on a play castle or in the low ropes course, children can really let off steam. Afterwards, young animal lovers can admire the giant rabbits, goats and kangaroos at the adventure farm or watch parakeets, parrots and canaries at the aviary.

Other crowd-pullers that fit perfectly into the park architecture of the Four Seasons Park are a park pool with six 50-metre lanes, a wave slide and diving tower, as well as the Klipp Klapp children's museum, which is housed in an almost 300-year-old watermill. The facility, named after a children's song, breaks down the path from grain to flour in several themed rooms. Young visitors can find out what tasks a miller performs in his daily work routine.

Events and other green spaces

Visitors to the Four Seasons Park on certain dates throughout the year can also enjoy various cultural events: Poetry and music nights, jugglers' festivals, illuminations, flea markets, park festivals and open-air exhibitions ensure that even a second visit is never boring. National music stars such as Adel Tawil, Peter Maffay, Silbermond, ICH + ICH and Sarah Connor have already played on the Waldbühne. The small amphitheater is suitable for shows for up to 2,500 spectators.

In addition to the paid area of the Four Seasons Park, day-trippers can discover even more green spaces in the immediate vicinity. To the south is the "Aue" themed area around the Auensee lake with a beehive run by the Oelde Beekeepers' Association. To the north, park visitors will find the "Gardens" area, which is characterized by allotment gardens and cemetery greenery.
