The exhibition "Wanderlustig. On the road with Felix the rabbit" at the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in Münster turns a family outing into a short trip around the world: From March 28 to September 13, 2026, the famous Felix the rabbit will guide visitors through six themed rooms, where everything revolves around vacations, wanderlust and leisure culture. Between works of art, historical objects and interactive hands-on stations, travel is told not only as an adventure, but also as a cultural phenomenon - sometimes nostalgic, sometimes playful, sometimes surprisingly contemporary. Works by August Macke, Ida Gerhardi, Otto Piene and Annelise Kretschmer meet creative installations, letters and watercolors all about the travel-loving stuffed rabbit. The family exhibition in Münster thus positions itself as an entertaining and cleverly staged show for children, young people and adults.
The exhibition is particularly exciting where it aims to be more than just an idyllic vacation: tourism, the environment, sustainable travel and changing vacation habits are dealt with in a child-friendly but by no means trivial way. The fact that children and young people themselves have been involved in interactive stations and scenes gives the Felix exhibition at the LWL Museum Münster a noticeably fresh, direct perspective. The program is complemented by workshops, vacation activities, family parties, interactive materials and a hands-on booklet. The cooperation with children's book author Annette Langen, illustrator Constanza Droop and Coppenrath Verlag also underlines the high recognition value of the Felix brand.
