Flamersheim Castle

Euskirchen

A trip to Flamersheim Castle is a journey for all the senses. Under the name "Landlust", the hotel has dedicated itself entirely to indulgence. In the middle of a historic castle complex with a baroque manor house, two side wings, a winding courtyard and castle park, guests can feast, meet, celebrate and relax. The country estate in the Rhineland is a modern event location with two restaurants, a hotel with five rooms and a cookery school.

Whether it's a tender lamb from the nearby Pützhof in Gasthaus Eiflers Zeiten, refined gourmet creations in Bembergs Häuschen or a cooking course with star chefs Oliver Röder and Filip Czmok: almost every guest will find something to suit them here. The historical location inevitably contributes to the pleasant atmosphere.

The castle complex is located in the heart of the Euskirchen district of Flamersheim, right next to the church. The baroque manor house with its two flanking towers, mansard roof and gabled porch is an impressive testimony to centuries past. The history of the castle dates back to the 14th century. First mentioned in a document in 1358, the medieval fortification with its outer and main castle later developed into a prestigious estate. Under the von Quadt family, the castle was converted into an elegant baroque complex in 1776 before passing into the ownership of the von Bemberg family in 1861, whose descendants still live here today.

Guests staying here, coming together for dinner or using the house as a base for a short break should definitely take a stroll through the extensive castle park during their stay. It was converted into an English landscape garden in the 19th century and still impresses today with its old moats, wrought-iron gates and centuries-old espalier trees.

Other cultural destinations in the immediate vicinity include the LVR Industrial Museum Tuchfabrik Müller in Euskirchen and Satzvey Castle in Mechernich.

By the way: Visiting just this one castle would be far too much of a shame. NRW is the state with the most castles and palaces in Germany. To make it easier for you to choose, we have found a perfect counterpart for Flamersheim Castle: Heimerzheim Castle. Find out more about the duo here.
