From March 13 to August 9, 2026, the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn is opening the major exhibition "Amazônia. Indigenous Worlds", which gives the indigenous peoples of the Amazon region a clearly audible voice. The exhibition features around 400 exhibits depicting the lives of the people. Through artifacts and images, it presents Amazonia as a living space with dense networks, intercultural exchange and a high degree of sociability among hundreds of indigenous communities.

The show focuses on three central themes: Creation, Community and Future Prospects. It is not only about traditional ways of life, but also about current challenges and scope for action in a globalized world. Anyone interested in indigenous cultures, the challenges of the Amazon and the art and cultural history there will find an immersive and reflective presentation that breaks down clichés and creates new spaces for dialog.
