The Phoenix des Lumières in Dortmund continues its success story with the new immersive exhibition "Monet - Master of Impressionism": In the imposing gas blower hall of the former Phoenix West blast furnace works, the venue presents over 200 works by Claude Monet in large-scale projections, including world-famous motifs such as the water lilies, the cathedral series and the iconic painting "Impression, Sunrise", which gave the Impressionism art movement its name.

Visitors can immerse themselves in Monet's garden in Giverny, experience seas of flowers and also discover lesser-known works with Japanese influences as they wander through the exhibition hall, which is up to 13 meters high. The exhibition thus impressively shows how the French pioneer of modernism was.

The main program is complemented by the short format "Rousseau: Jungle of Colours", which is dedicated to Henri Rousseau's fairytale-like pictorial worlds. It shows his naive, intensely colored jungle paintings, which form an exciting contrast to the works of Monet.
