Culinary enjoyment in NRW?
7 questions for... Olaf Baumeister

Why are you the Ambassador of Good Taste for the Sauerland region?
Because it’s such incredible fun for me to be able to show people the many fantastic products we have to offer, plus I live in a great region that I’m proud of. Sauerland is much more exciting than many may think, and everyone should know about it!

Your opinion: why can North Rhine-Westphalia be described as an epicurean region?
Hardly anywhere else in Europe is the cuisine so diverse as it is in NRW.

What trait distinguishes an epicurean?
Passion

You perform at your very best every day. What do you consider the perfect culinary start to the day?
Hot coffee and fresh bread, plus really well-made scrambled eggs...amazing!

Your dishes inspire your guests and colleagues. Which producers in your region inspire you?
The best products and the biggest source of inspiration are found in nature.
A walk in the woods inspires me a thousand times more than a visit to the wholesale market. Otherwise, I love the fresh fish from the Linn trout farm just around the corner and the fresh game I get from local hunters.

Do you have any personal recommendations for visitors to the epicurean region of NRW?
If you really want to experience something, you absolutely must peek in on the other Ambassadors of Good Taste!

Last but not least: what is your motto for personal enjoyment?
The main thing is that it tastes good!
