The history of the private brewery Bolten begins in 1266, when the founder of the brewery, Heinrich der Brauer, was granted the right to brew beer at the Kraushof in Korschenbroich. The Kraushof is still the brewery's headquarters today, making it the home of the oldest Altbier brewery in the world.
If you take a closer look at the private brewery Bolten, you will quickly realize that "quality" and "taste" have always played a prominent role. We are convinced that the Bolten private brewery's adherence to the highest quality features, be it raw materials or brewing technology, are important characteristics for the brewery's existence. At least as important, however, is the fact that the brewers at Privatbrauerei Bolten have always been driven by the desire to produce beers with a first-class taste. In addition to the region's famous Altbier, the private brewery also produces natural, malt, wheat and pale beer.
Although Bolten does not have a traditional brewery pub that is open all year round, there is a picnic beer garden directly opposite the brewery. The principle is very simple: guests bring their own treats and Bolten provides freshly tapped and chilled beer. Of course, small snacks are also available for last-minute guests so that the "spontaneous picnic" doesn't just consist of drinks.
