Are you a puzzle fan? Puzzling, fiddling, searching, trying out ideas in practice and sometimes discarding them, but at other times gaining a clear insight from a vague idea - it's great fun, especially in a group, is a great sense of achievement and creates a feeling of community. In NRW, there are not only a wide range of different missions waiting for you in the various escape rooms, no: we present four offers that will put your puzzle skills to the test in a museum, underground in a mine tunnel, on a city tour and on a hiking trail.

Escape games and puzzle hike
Tip 1
Puzzling into the Roman era
A faithfully reconstructed Roman guardhouse forms the setting for Europe's first Roman Escape Room, which is located on the grounds of the LWL Roman Museum in Haltern. Under the motto "Carpe Noctem! Escape from Aliso", it takes you back to the year 9 AD: only if an escape plan is found, which a wounded centurion has hidden there in the guardhouse, is it still possible to escape from the Germanic invasion. However, there is not much time left, one hour at most.....
Tip 2
In search of pit gold
As if a trip underground wasn't exciting enough, the Recklinghausen training mine also offers underground puzzles in addition to various guided tours: The escape room scenarios "Grubengold" and "Gruben(un)glück" require quick deductive skills, as there is only one hour to solve each one. One time a bomb is ticking that needs to be defused, the other time a treasure needs to be recovered.
Tip 3
Hiking and puzzles
You can hike and puzzle your way along the mining trail in Rösrath, one of the Bergische Streifzüge. Under the title "The curse of Lüderich - pursued by bad luck", the aim is to track down the origin of a curse and break it in around four to five hours. Those who embark on the puzzle hiking tour in the style of an escape room not only receive digital clues on their mobile phones, but also a rucksack with three value vouchers that can be redeemed during the hike or on a later visit to regional businesses.
Tip 4
The city as a playing field
Intrigue and secrets are waiting to be solved in Münster. Three different outdoor exit games transform the tranquil city into a setting for a murder mystery, a treasure hunt or an art heist. An iPad is provided as an interactive city map and supplies videos and audio elements for the story.
