Tiger & Turtle

Duisburg

There is a special roller coaster on the Heinrich Hildebrand Höhe in the south of Duisburg: there are no cars, you have to walk on steps over the arches towards the loop. By the way: there is no ticket booth at this roller coaster - a visit to Tiger & Turtle is free. From the top of the sculpture, you have a fantastic view over Duisburg and the Ruhr region. The view is particularly magical at sunset and the work of art is a perfect photo spot. Incidentally, this even applies at night when the sculpture is illuminated. Then 880 LEDs draw the sweeping curves of the steel sculpture into the night sky. It's a good thing that Tiger & Turtle is open day and night with free admission.

The traces that the German sculptor Wilhelm Lehmbruck left behind with his life's work in North Rhine-Westphalia are unmistakable. Sculptures marked by melancholy and gloom that could hardly be more expressive. The Lehmbruck Museum puts these works in the right light. It holds treasures from sculpture, painting and graphic art from the 20th and 21st centuries ready for its guests.
