Weeze Airport is the third largest in NRW and serves destinations in Europe. It is located in the district of Kleve, around 70 kilometres north of Düsseldorf beside the Dutch border. As one of low-cost carrier Ryanair’s main bases in Germany, the airport handles a large number of cheap flights between Britain and NRW. Direct return flights from London to Weeze can be booked for as little as 30 euro.
Destinations like Düsseldorf, Essen, Duisburg or the trade fair grounds in Cologne are within quick reach by car or the inter-city buses, which depart several times a day. Rail travellers can take the frequent airport shuttle buses to the railway stations in Weeze or Kevelaer and then take an onwards connection to Krefeld or Düsseldorf, departing every 30 minutes.
