Bad Salzuflen - 200 years of princely brine baths
Bad Salzuflen, the popular saltwater spa in the Teutoburg Forest with air and water like the sea, can look back on a long tradition of bathing. Since the opening of the first bathing season in 1818, Salzuflen has continuously developed into an up-and-coming spa resort. Today, 200 years later, the brine from nine Bad Salzuflen springs and fountains still plays the main role. It is bathed in, drunk and inhaled.
Fresh sea breeze
600,000 liters of brine trickle over the imposing graduation towers in the heart of the town every day, providing a fresh sea breeze. Originally, these graduation towers were used to extract salt. Today, they are a huge open-air inhalatorium that attracts visitors from near and far. You can take a particularly deep breath in the walk-in graduation house at the spa gardens. Here, in the brine mist chamber inside, you can breathe in the healthy air while listening to soft music and watching the starry sky change color.
Walks in the spa garden
Right next door, one of the most spacious gardens in Germany invites you to take long walks and hikes. 120 hectares of nature in the middle of the city: the spa and landscape garden, laid out in the style of English parks, impresses with its old trees, wide lawns and colorful flowerbeds and merges imperceptibly into the open nature of the city forest.
Discover the historic old town
From the green oasis, you head straight into the historic old town. Preciously decorated half-timbered houses from the 16th century with ornately carved gables and Weser Renaissance ornaments provide a picturesque setting for a stopover in one of the many cafés and restaurants.
Regenerating health programs, cultural delights and varied leisure activities - Bad Salzuflen has a lot to offer.
