German Opera on the Rhine

The German Opera on the Rhine

Düsseldorf

The Düsseldorf Opera House on Heinrich-Heine-Allee is located on the edge of the old town, directly between Hofgarten and Königsallee, and can be reached in a few minutes from the Rhine embankment promenade.

Since its foundation in 1956, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein has been one of Germany's major opera houses. With its high-ranking ensemble of soloists, the choir and the nationally and internationally acclaimed Ballett am Rhein company, it has become one of the top addresses for music theater and dance in Europe. The Düsseldorfer Symphoniker and the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra contribute to the artistic success of the opera and ballet performances in the orchestra pit.
