At K20, visitors can expect to see over 180 groundbreaking masterpieces of Classical Modernism and postwar art by artists such as Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, and Andy Warhol. Also on view are new acquisitions by significant modernist artists, including Etel Adnan, Paula Modersohn-Becker, Gabriele Münter, Alice Neel, and Lygia Pape. The newly acquired works by non-European artists exemplify the history of modern abstraction. Today, the collection is internationally regarded as one of the most distinguished and diverse in modern art.
K21 focuses on 21st-century art and features innovative contemporary installations as well as exciting new media. It welcomes visitors into a spectacular space beneath a massive glass dome. Spanning five levels, it presents a comprehensive collection ranging from the late 1970s to the present, featuring works by internationally renowned artists such as Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Marcel Broodthaers, Katharina Fritsch, Dan Graham, Andreas Gursky, Candida Höfer, William Kentridge, Imi Knoebel, Sherry Levine, Paul McCarthy, Reinhard Mucha, Nam June Paik, Thomas Schütte, Thomas Struth, and Jeff Wall.
