North Rhine-Westphalia Art Collection in Düsseldorf

At K20, visitors can expect to see over 180 groundbreaking masterpieces of classical modernism and post-war art by artists such as Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol. New acquisitions by important modern artists, including Etel Adnan, Paula Modersohn-Becker, Gabriele Münter, Alice Neel and Lygia Pape, are also on display. The newly acquired works by non-European artists exemplify the history of modern abstraction. Today, the collection is internationally regarded as one of the most distinguished and polyphonic of modern art.

K21 focuses on art of the 21st century and offers innovative contemporary installations and exciting new media. It welcomes visitors in a spectacular space under a huge glass dome. A comprehensive collection is presented on five levels, ranging from the late 1970s to the present day and including works by internationally renowned artists such as Eijaartists such as Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Marcel Broodthaers, Katharina Fritsch, Dan Graham, Andreas Gursky, Candida Höfer, William Kentridge, Imi Knoebel, Sherry Levine, Paul McCarthy, Reinhard Mucha, Nam June Paik, Thomas Schütte, Thomas Struth and Jeff Wall.
