Soest Christmas market

The Soest Christmas market, nestled in the medieval architecture of the old town, is a feast for the senses. With around 100 lovingly decorated stalls, surrounded by imposing green sandstone churches and historic half-timbered houses, it offers a wide range of handmade gifts, handicrafts from all over the world, a variety of Christmas decorations and culinary delights. Daily highlights include the distribution of sweets by the Christmas angel and the evening melodies played by the tower bell-ringer. Children can call Santa Claus at the weekend and marvel at the Westphalian nativity scene in St. Patrokli from the second weekend in Advent. From the end of November, the globally unique green sandstone ensemble of Soest's old town forms the impressive backdrop for one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the country. The romantic stalls in the Vreithof courtyard, surrounded by quaint, invitingly illuminated rows of half-timbered houses, contribute to the unique atmosphere. The event is known far beyond the region's borders and attracts visitors with its special atmosphere.
