It is the star of Duisburg's oldest restaurant - the potato. Nothing works without it. Nothing at all. The Kartoffel-Kiste serves the star of the region sometimes with and sometimes without the skin - boiled, sliced, mashed, fried and even roasted. They are available warm and cold, hot and iced, but one thing is for sure: not as chips. Everything is homemade and home-made in the potato box, from classic potato pancakes to potato schnapps. Many of the kitchen tricks really do come from grandmother's kitchen.
