Dortmund's Christmas city is a popular destination for hundreds of thousands of visitors from the surrounding area and abroad every year. No wonder! After all, Hansaplatz is home to the largest Christmas tree in the world (made up of around 1,000 spruce trees) and numerous stalls offer everything your heart desires in the run-up to Christmas, from gift ideas, clothing, toys and decorations to delicious food and drink. These include mulled wine and beer, of course, as well as Westphalian grilled ham, crêpes, bratwurst and fruit skewers with chocolate. For some years now, the Christmas market in Dortmund has been called "Christmas City" - because the Christmas experience is not just limited to one area in the pedestrian zone, but extends over large parts of the city center.

Decorated wooden houses are set up around the romantic market square in Monschau. Trees of light and "floating starry skies" adorn the streets and alleyways.
