The St. Altfrid Youth Center sees itself as a place of encounter—an encounter with others, with nature, with oneself, and with God. It is a place where trust in oneself and in life can grow. It is open to all groups and communities of different ages who wish to use the center for conferences, retreats, or training programs. It is a center of the Diocese of Essen—that is, of the Catholic Church—and, of course, its doors are open to other denominations and religions, as well as to those searching for faith and non-believers.
The center’s facilities and resources are primarily available to youth groups and young adults. In addition, children’s groups, family groups, young adult groups, vacation camps, and music groups are warmly welcome.
