Brine garden St. Jakob Kevelaer

Kevelaer

The brine garden promises relaxation, recuperation and time to take a deep breath. And this is a special and healthy experience due to the brine-rich air, especially around the graduation house. The "sea breeze" is created by the brine pumped from the spa's own healing spring. The iodine-rich healing water is pumped up from a depth of over 500 meters and transported to the graduation house. Here the water trickles down the blackthorn. The graduation house is unique due to its shell shape and the associated accessibility. It is 12 meters high and has a diameter of approx. 25 meters. In summer, it is up to 8 degrees cooler inside the graduation house.

Since January 2024, an inhalatorium has also been available to visitors, which rounds off the health aspect of the Jakobsquelle.

Why inhale brine?
A conscious walk around and into the shell-shaped graduation house is as healthy as a walk by the sea thanks to the intense salty air. Breathing in the aerosols prevents respiratory diseases and colds. It stimulates blood circulation in the lungs and cleanses them. The entire respiratory tract is cleansed of bacteria and allergens such as dust or pollen.

In addition to the graduation house and the inhalatorium, there are also Kneipp facilities in the St. Jakob brine garden. You can experience the therapeutic effects of water in the treading and arm pool. Water increases performance, stimulates the immune system and improves body awareness.

Special sensory impressions can be perceived on the barefoot path. A breathing trail, vitality hiking trail, a Bible garden, fitness equipment and boules lanes round off the offer. The tourist information office is also located here.

Important information about accessibility: certificates

  • "Reisen für Alle" (“Travel for All”) is a nationwide, uniform labeling system for barrier-free travel. It offers reliable information on the accessibility of tourist offerings, such as hotels, attractions and means of transport. Providers who allow themselves to be labeled are checked for accessibility by specially trained surveyors. The results are published in detailed test reports so that travelers with disabilities know exactly which offers are suitable for their needs.
