The exhibition "The power of rules! Between freedom and control" at Dalheim Monastery is dedicated to a central theme of human coexistence: rules. They structure everyday life and reflect values, power relations and social norms. The exhibition at the LWL-Landesmuseum für Klosterkultur explores the question of how commandments, laws and regulations shape communities.

Visitors to the interactive show can reflect on freedom and control. Historical objects, digital elements and hands-on stations create links to monastic life and the modern state. The exhibition conveys knowledge from a cultural-historical perspective. However, it also encourages discussion about the necessity of boundaries and rules.
