Paderborn Christmas Market

The Christmas market in Paderborn is a magical event that fills the city with festive cheer. As soon as the magnificent Christmas tree in front of the town hall lights up and the festively decorated stalls in front of the historic backdrop invite you to stroll and feast, the city is enveloped in a magical atmosphere. Numerous stalls in front of the cathedral and town hall, as well as in the pedestrian zone, offer a variety of delicacies, from savoury to sweet, as well as a wide range of handicrafts, Christmas decorations and toys. On the market square, the illuminated Christmas pyramid, around 20 metres high, immediately catches the eye. It combines nostalgic flair with a cosy hut atmosphere. The two lower levels are accessible and invite you to linger and relax. In addition, the town hall will once again be the largest Advent calendar in the region this year. Every day, a window in the magnificent Weser Renaissance façade will be opened to reveal one of the 24 Christmas motifs painted by children from Paderborn's primary schools.
