Hofgarten

Bonn

It is Elector Ferdinand who begins the expansion of Bonn into an electoral residential city, builds the medieval city fortifications and a palace, which is destroyed again in 1689. On the ruins, Elector Joseph Clemens begins a magnificent new building, in front of whose southern façade the Hofgarten is laid out.

The Hofgarten is a station on the "Path of Democracy"
