Brilon Spa Park

Brilon

Fresh spring water makes a visit to this spa park particularly healthy and beneficial: the Möhne River rises nearby and winds its way through the entire park. No wonder, then, that Sebastian Kneipp’s health philosophy plays a central role here. At the heart of the park is the Kneipp facility, which is fed by the cold waters of the Möhne. The Brilon Kneipp Association offers many courses and events throughout the year. An herb garden with medicinal and culinary herbs, a barefoot trail, as well as ponds, meadows, perennial plantings, and seating areas characterize the grounds and make them a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. At the same time, the spa park offers many opportunities for physical activity: bocce, table tennis, play areas, a petting zoo, and a geological nature trail appeal to different age groups. Additional activities are provided by various hiking trails that run through the area. For example, the Rothaarsteig—one of the “Top Trails of Germany” and a premium hiking trail—begins in Brilon. The 154-kilometer route leads through the Rothaar Mountains, over the Kahlen Asten, and on to Dillenburg in Hesse.
