Whether by train, car or plane - you can reach your destination in NRW quickly and easily. In the land of short distances, you can get from A to B in no time at all: 2,200 kilometres of motorway and the densest rail network in Germany make up North Rhine-Westphalia's excellent transport network. And even if you are travelling from abroad, you will reach your destination quickly: NRW can be reached from all major European cities in less than three hours and the major international airports of Düsseldorf and Cologne/Bonn connect the state with the rest of the world.

Travelling by train
Guests can reach their destination quickly by rail from anywhere: NRW has the densest rail network in Germany. More than 30 IC, EC and ICE train stations and a well-coordinated local transport network ensure a comfortable journey. Once they have arrived, holidaymakers can also complete their sightseeing programme by train: Nationally valid tickets such as the "Schöner Tag Ticket" allow for convenient discovery tours for little money. Couples, families or single travellers can use it to travel across NRW for a whole day at a fixed price. Alternatively, you can use the Deutschland-Ticket (D-Ticket), which is valid nationwide on all public transport and costs 58 euros per month.

Travelling by car
North Rhine-Westphalia has a dense, well-developed road network. Every important town in the state has good connections to the 2,200 kilometres of motorway in NRW and is therefore well connected to the European trunk road system. Numerous charging stations are available for electric cars in NRW. An overview map shows all the locations.

Travelling by plane
A total of six airports connect North Rhine-Westphalia with all major destinations within Germany and with major cities around the world. The two major international airports Düsseldorf Airport and Cologne Bonn Airport as well as the airports with European connections in Dortmund, Münster/Osnabrück, Paderborn/Lippstadt and Weeze/Lower Rhine get our guests to their destinations quickly.
