Dortmund U

Dortmund

As a new kind of cultural center, the Dortmunder U brings together art, research, cultural education, and creativity. It symbolizes a new beginning and structural change in the Ruhr region. Through the collaboration of various cultural institutions and organizations in the U-Tower building, a program is taking shape that extends beyond the city and the region and provides new inspiration. Visitors can experience exhibitions, film programs, workshops, lectures, discussions, concerts, club nights, video and sound art, as well as other event formats.

Among others, the following organizations collaborate at the “U”: the Museum Ostwall, the Hartware MedienKunstVerein, the City of Dortmund’s Cultural Office, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the Technical University of Dortmund, the European Centre for Creative Economy (ecce), the Kino im U e.V. association, which operates the RWE Forum, and panUrama GmbH, responsible for the venue’s food and beverage services.
