Just by the Belgian border with Germany, there’s an awesome national park which serves as a perfect weekend getaway: Eifel National Park. I went for a walk with ranger Sasha, and he thought me a lot about fauna and flora in the park.

At the end of the walk, you get a great view over the Rursee, one of the biggest lake reservoirs in Germany. This lake was created to prevent flooding in the Eifel area and it’s also the biggest source for drinking water and electricity. Today it’s also a great recreation spot: you can swim in the lake or rent a boat!
