Entdeckerschleife Heiligenhauser Runde

The "Heiligenhauser Runde" discovery loop is an impressive combination of nature, culture and sights in and around Heiligenhaus. It offers a perfect excursion for the whole family with varied sections. The hike begins in a landscape that lives up to its name "In Paradise". After a short stretch past the former waterworks, which now houses a museum, the quaint "Herberge" café invites you to take a break. The easy ascent over the Mühlenberg rewards you with a magnificent view. The Rinderbachtal and Vogelsangbachtal nature reserves as far as the "Rossdelle" riding stables are easy to hike. The route leads via the road "An der Butterwelle" up to the town. The church square is believed to be the birthplace of the town of Heiligenhaus. A floor slab is a reminder of the Hubertus church that once stood here. A stroll through the traffic-calmed and bicycle-friendly town center to the town hall offers a good insight into the former street village "Hilghen Huße". The former railroad line, now the PanoramaRadweg niederbergbahn, takes you to the only wagon bridge in Germany. The former railroad carriage is the most popular photo motif in Heiligenhaus. The hike leads past the fire department museum down to the reservoir and the Abtsküche monument area. The "Abtsküche" farm café by the reservoir offers homemade cakes and rewards you with a wonderful view over the pond.
