Hansa Coking Plant

All areas relevant to the assessment meet the quality criteria for the“Accessibility Tested—Partially Accessible for People with MobilityImpairments” designation.

We have compiled some information on accessibility below. Detailed information can be found in the inspection report at the end of this text.

• There is a designated parking space for people with disabilities.
• The building is accessible without steps.
• All rooms and facilities available to guests and open to the public are accessible without steps or via ramps or elevators.
• The ramps have a maximum slope of 6%.
• All doors and passageways accessible to guests are at least 87 cm wide.
• In all elevated exhibition spaces, the exhibits and accompanying information can be viewed and read primarily while seated.
• The surface of the outdoor walking path makes it easy to walk and drive on.
• The “SchwarzGold” and “ButterRaum” restaurants feature wheelchair-accessible tables (maximum height 80 cm, with a clearance of 67 cm in height and 30 cm in depth).
• There are three public restrooms for people with disabilities, each accessible from at least one side (minimum 90 cm). Fold-down grab bars are available on the left and right sides of the restroom.
• Guided tours are offered for people with mobility impairments and wheelchair users. Advance registration is requested.
• Seating is available. The entire route is wheelchair-accessible with no steps.

• There is no induction loop system available.
• In the exhibition rooms, information about the exhibits is provided audibly, not in writing.
• In the “SchwarzGold” and “ButterRaum” restaurants, tables are equipped with bright, glare-free lighting, and there are no lamps standing or hanging above them that obstruct the field of vision or eye contact.
• No guided tours are offered for people with hearing impairments or who are deaf.

• The entrance area is visually distinct from its surroundings.
• The signage (for wayfinding) is designed with clearly legible, high-contrast lettering.

• The steps on the stairs do not provide high visual contrast. Stairs have at least one handrail on one side.
• In the exhibition rooms, the well-lit exhibits stand out visually from their surroundings.
• Information is conveyed audibly. An audio guide is available to provide information.
• Information is not available in Braille or prism script.
• Guided tours are offered for people with visual impairments and blind people. The exhibition includes exhibits designed to be touched. Advance registration is recommended.

• The content (e.g., exhibits) of the guided tour for people with cognitive impairments is easy to understand or is explained in an easy-to-understand way (e.g., using images).
